When Michael Anataran founded Marvel Apps LLC in 2008, he didn’t want to create a company that simply offered products and services – he wanted to provide real solutions to the challenges faced by his clients.

That approach, combined with Antaran’s 15 years of design, programming and leadership experience in the automotive industry, has distinguished Marvel Apps as one of the most innovative and successful mobile application development firms in Southeast Michigan.

“Our goal is to make game-changing applications,” said Antaran, “and we can only do that by first identifying the problems and needs of our client. Once we’ve done that, we can then leverage our experience and the most recent advancements in technology to develop customized, cost-effective solutions.”

Before founding Marvel Apps, Antaran spent the majority of his professional career as one of the auto industry’s leading powertrain and engine systems experts at Chrysler/Daimler Chrysler (1997-2008) and General Motors (2009-2012). With new opportunities emerging in mobile app development, Antaran left GM in 2012 to make a full-time commitment to Marvel Apps – and he hasn’t looked back.

Under Antaran’s leadership, Marvel Apps has been recognized annually as a one of Southeast Michigan’s top app developers by Crain’s Detroit Business.

In 2014, Antaran was selected by Goldman Sachs to participate in its 2014 10k Small Business Program in Detroit – a program he successfully completed while developing CARROT, a unique fitness app that rewards users financially for walking, running and climbing stairs.  In August of 2015, Antaran was one of just 16 U.S. entrepreneurs selected to participate in a special business development program hosted jointly by Goldman Sachs and Bloomberg in New York City.

Thanks in large part to its introduction of CARROT, Marvel Apps was honored as a “Top 50 Company in Michigan to Watch” by Michigan Celebrates Small Business, the Michigan Small Business Development Center, the U.S. Small Business Administration, and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

CARROT was also selected to serve as the official tech partner and mobile app for the 2015 Michigan State Fair. In addition, Antaran represents CARROT on the Executive Leadership Board of the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk campaign.

When he’s not busy developing game-changing apps, Antaran serves as a volunteer for local middle school students, coaches youth soccer, and mentors University of Michigan engineering students. The Metro Detroit native is a proud graduate of Wayne State University (BS, Mechanical Engineering) and Oakland University (MSME).
