With a diverse background that includes more than a decade in the health care industry and experience supporting small businesses, Michael Murray is well-positioned to serve as CARROT’s Vce President for Marketing & Communications.
Murray received his degree in Communications from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he spent six years as the Assistant Director for Athletic Media Relations. He later served nine years as the Director of Media Relations for the Detroit Lions, heading a staff that became recognized as one of the NFL’s best publicity departments. Murray was selected by the National Football League to assist its staff at three Super Bowls, twice serving as the NFL’s Electronic Media Coordinator.
Murray left the sports arena to explore a new opportunity in health care in 1999. In his role as Director of Marketing, Advertising and Communications with Rochester Hills-based Wright & Filippis, Inc., Murray led a staff that was responsible for all aspects of marketing, advertising, media relations and community outreach. In addition to establishing and developing brand awareness, he was responsible for the creation, purchase and placement of all advertising, negotiated corporate partnerships, and evaluated the effectiveness of marketing programs by analyzing sales trends, conducting market research surveys, and monitoring web analytics.
Following his entrepreneurial spirit, Murray founded DM Communications in 2013, providing cost-effective marketing solutions and strategic planning services to small businesses and non-profits. Among his early clients was Marvel Apps, parent company to CARROT Pass, LLC. Murray joined the CARROT team full-time in January 2015.
